The TNA is scheduled to hold an urgent meeting in Vavuniya this forenoon.
TNA Northern Provincial Councillor M. K. Sivajilingam said that this meeting was scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. today.
TNA parliamentarians and Northern and Eastern Provincial Councillors too will participate in this discussion.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa had also invited the TNA to come for discussion about peace and reconciliation.
That was on 21st this month in parliament during the finance ministerial budget debate reply.
Councillor M. K. Sivaajilingam said that TNA was scheduled to discuss about this invitation as well today.
The councillor said further that in addition discussion would be held with regard to resolving several problems that had cropped up within the TNA.
The Tamil National Alliance says that they are prepared to accept the invitation extended by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
TNA Leader R Sambanthan stated that they will accept the invitation subject to the implementation of the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission and the enactment of the consensus reached during discussions with the government.
