Two foreigners arrested with bundles of foreign currency

Airport Customs officials arrested a Mali national and a Cameroon national who carried fake foreign currency worth of 400 thousand rupees this morning.

The notes were brought in, in the guise of some blank papers but they were turned to fake notes after certain chemical liquid was applied on them.

Customs found 40 numbers of 20 dollar notes, 40 numbers of 50 dollar notes and 12 numbers of 50 Swiss Franc notes in their baggage.

Customs Department Media spokesman Leslie Gamini said that the today’s arrest was second incident of its kind.
