Norochcholei inactive again - 9.2 billion rupees lost this year

The National Electricity Consumption Movement states that 9.2 billion rupees has been lost due to the Norochcholei power plant breaking down several times this year.

Speaking to our news team its advisor Bandula Chnadrasekara stated that 7.2 million rupees are lost per day when the power plant breaks down.

The Norochcholei power plant has been inactive since the 13th of this month and the National Electricity Consumption Movement states that the power plant in in a state where it cannot be repaired.

However, Deputy General Manager of Business and Strategy of the Ceylon Electricity Board Senujith Dasanayaka stated that the power plant has been temporarily shut down for maintenance.
