Supporters of the banned Islamist Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt have set fire to two university buildings in Cairo.

Students fought police at the Cairo campus of al-Azhar University.

3 people died yesterday, as police fought Brotherhood supporters in Cairo, southern Minya and the Nile Delta.

Authorities have cracked down on the Brotherhood since July, when Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, who belongs to the group, was deposed by the army.

The movement was formally designated a terrorist organisation on Wednesday.
