President Mahinda Rajapakse states that it is the responsibility of women to create a generation that identifies our cultural values while safeguarding culture and moral values as Sri Lanka strides forward with the modern world.
Speaking during the 24th annual general meeting of the Hambantota Women’s Development Society, President Rajapakse also stated that it is the responsibility of every government to safeguard women.
Speaking further President Rajapakse also stated that Hambantota has become a region that has achieved immense development and that the contribution of women towards this was significant.
Meanwhile, President Mahinda Rajapakse also declared open the Sethsuwa Madura Safe Food Centre built with the objective of providing Sri Lankans with nutritious meal devoid of unhealthy additions.
Speaking during the opening ceremony the president stated that at a time when the country is developing economically, Sri Lankans should be provided with nutritious meals devoid of unhealthy additions.
President Rajapakse also requested the farmers of the country to dedicate themselves to this.
