Sri Lankan environment not harmed by polythene and plastic.

The Central Environment Authority says that Sri Lanka is a country free from unhealthy effects of plastic and polythene.


Central Environment Authority Chairman Wimal Rubasinghe said that this was revealed in a survey the Central Environment Authority had carried out.


The CEA Chairman said that 70 per cent of plastic and polythene material annually imported to Sri Lanka had been used in a manner that was not harmful to environment.
