The 13-day strike launched by Milko workers over 6 demands was called off today after the President promised them to bring solutions within a month.

Milko Deputy Chairman Sanjaya Leelarathna told our news team that production will start from tomorrow to supply Milko products to the market as soon as possible.

Meanwhile our news team contacted the officials of the Cooperative and Internal Trade Ministry to comment on certain report that there is a powdered milk shortage in the market.

A ministry spokesman told that investigations will continue further to check whether the reason for milk shortage is hoarders.

He also said that milk importers have demanded a price hike of 250 rupees per kilogram but the Ministry has not taken a final decision on the demand as yet.
