UPFA controlled Bulathsinhala and Higurakgoda budgets defeated at the second vote taking; Daraniyagala Charien arrested.
The budgets of the UPFA controlled Bulathsinhala and Hingurakkgoda Pradeshiya Sabhas were defeated during the second vote taking today.
The Bulathsinhala Pradeshiya Sabha received only one vote while 11 other members voted against it.
Chairman Thusitha Kularatna voted for the budget while all 8 other party members joined the 3 UNP members to defeat the budget.
Hingurakkgoda Pradeshiya Sabha budget was also defeated with 3 majority votes and it was defeated with 6 majority votes during the first vote taking.
The Sabha meeting was presided by the Deputy Chairman as its Chairman Susantha Gnanaratna was absent during the vote taking.
Meanwhile the second vote taking for the budgets of Polonnaruwa Medirigiriya and Lankapura Pradeshiya Sabhas are scheduled to be held today. UPFA controlled Ampara Damana and Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha budgets were defeated during the second vote taking yesterday.
Meanwhile police arrested Deraniyagala Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Anura Wijesuriya today for allegedly assaulting a 23-year old youth during a volley ball match held at the Pradeshiya Sabha sports ground at Deraniyagala last night.
