Video : The word Youth unrest should be removed from the dictionary; says President.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that the Government is taking action to remove the term “youth unrest” from this country’s dictionary.
Participating at a function for handing over State Management Assistants’ appointment letters in Colombo yesterday, the President said that youth unrest accounted for the rebellions in the North as well as the South.
The President said that the Government was by now taking action to eradicate unemployment that had been a main cause of youth unrest.
On this occasion the President said that although it was the policy of other Governments to slash Government service, the current Government’s policy was to strengthen public service and involve the youth in the country’s development.
