According to the External Affairs Ministry, a program is currently underway to enlighten the International Human Rights Commission regarding the measures taken for reconciliation in Sri Lanka.
The Ministry Secretary Karunathilake Amunugama told our news team that the program is implemented in collaboration with the Presidential secretariat.
Government sources said that envoys have been already sent to relevant countries, with the aim of enlightening them on measures taken by Sri Lankan government to implement the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission.
These countries will learn about Sri Lanka’s progress since 2009 after ending the 30 year old war.
