The New Year’s first phase of the Daham Saviya programme revamping shrines of all religions based on a concept of Colombo District MP R. Dumindha Silva was implemented yesterday.
Providing financial assistance for revamping Buddhist Temples, Catholic churches, Hindu Temples and Muslim Mosques is the aim of the Daham Saviya programme.
The New Year’s first phase of the Daham Saviya programme was implemented centered at Dematagoda and Moratuwa.
The first programme of this series was implemented at the Sri Bhadrakaali Ammaan Hindu Temple along the Dematagoda - Gnaanawimala Road.
The MP who came to the Hindu Temple participated in the religious rites held there.
Subsequently MP R. Dumindha Silva donated monetary funds necessary for the Temple’s future development .
Addressing the gathering at the occasion, Sri Bhadrakaali Ammaan Temple priest Raamachandra Sharmaa blessed the MP for his noble act.
The second programme of the Daham Saviya was implemented centering around St. Sebastian’s church in Moratuwa.
Colombo District MP R. Dumindha Silva donated under the Daham Saviya Programme the money required for carrying out the repair activities currently taking place at Sebastian’s church.
Participating in the occasion Reverend Father Betram Ranjith of St. Sebastian’s church appreciated the Daham Saviya programme and blessed the MP.
