Had he listened to India, Prabhakaran would have been alive - says Indian Finance Minister
Indian Finance Minister P. Chithambaram in an interview said, during the final phase of the war, India urged Prabaharan to stop fighting and if he had adhered to it, he would still be alive.
During the interview, the Minister was responding to questions on several matters related to the Indian political situation, murder case of Rajiv Gandhi, upcoming general elections and was also questioned on the last stages of the war between the LTTE and Sri Lankan government.
He also said that India is ready to discuss and solve the fishermen problem, but the Tamil Nadu government is not ready and no date has still been decided on.
