Video: Australian govt to take action against HIPHOP duo
Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella says that the Australian Government will take action against the HIPHOP duo that made statements in Australia expressing support to the Tiger outfit while exhibiting the LTTE flag.
A US-based ‘hipop’ duo called ‘Dead Press’ had made statements thus at a New Year celebration held in Sydney in Australia.
However Minister Keheliya Rambukwella says that the Tamil Diaspora could resort to such actions in the future aiming at the Geneva Human Rights Conference.
The Minister also said that in the future too the Diaspora could direct challenges against Sri Lanka.
Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that the Government was prepared to respond to those challenges appropriately as and when they are encountered.
The government has decided to display the wreckage of a passenger airplane that was shot down by the LTTE 16 years ago.
Sri Lanka Navy exhumed the debris of the plane with the support of police.
The Navy recovered 72 pieces of the plane and they are to be displayed to the public on 11th and 12th January at the Jaffna Public Grounds.
Wreckage of Lion Air which crashed into the sea off the north-western coast after a LTTE missile attack in 1988 was recovered last year on the information provided by a LTTE carder.
