Another stock of 16,000 liters of ethanol imported from Malaysia was seized at the Customs Clearing Unit in Orugodawatta today.

Superintendent of the Customs Revenue Observation Division Parakrama Basnayake said the ethanol was imported in the guise of palm oil.

Two suspects were also arrested along with the illegal stock of ethanol.

The Customs previously seized several stocks of ethanol which were illegally imported to the island.

Meanwhile Consumer Affairs Authority officials seized a large stock of expired basmati rice imported from Pakistan while the rice was being packed for sale.
