Northern PC cancels certain appointments granted before election
The Northern Provincial Council has passed a proposal to cancel appointments granted prior to the provincial council elections.
This proposal and 14 other proposals were presented during the Northern Provincial Council session which was held under the patronage of the Chief Minister of the Northern Provincial Council C. V. Wigneshwaran.
Speaking to our news team, chairman of the Northern Provincial Council C. V. K. Siva - gnanam stated that all proposals presented during this session were approved and passed.
Among these proposals is a proposal put forth by TNA provincial councilor M. K. Sivajilingam requesting a common pardon to all political prisoners who were arrested during war time.
The Northern Provincial Council has also passed a proposal stating that the government should present correct statistics regarding those who had died and disappeared during the war.
Elaborating further chairman of the Northern Provincial Council C. V. K. Siva – gnanam stated that a proposal to display the pictures of the Chief Minister and other provincial councilors in state institutions of the Northern Provincial Council was also passed.
