Electricity Generation at the Norochcholai power plant has once again been temporarily halted.

Chairman of the CEB W B Ganegala stated that electricity generation was halted due to the change in the conductivity of water that is supplied to the power plant for electricity generation.


The power plant also had to be shut down following a leak in a pipe supplying water to a boiler at the plant and the plant was restored only last Thursday.
 

Media Spokesperson of the CEB Senujith Dassanayaka stated that the Norochcholai power plant can be restored within 2 days.


Meanwhile, Advisor of the National Electricity Consumers Movement Bandula Chandrasekara stated that everytime the power plant fails, 26 Million Rupees is required to restart the power plant.
