4 persons have been arrested for destroying artifacts of Anuradhapura era found inside Digangala Rock at Viharagama forest reserve in Giranduru-kotte.

The Special Police Unit for Safeguarding Antiquities in Badulla District stated that according to evidence there has been an ancient monastery and monks living quarters in the premises.

Archaeologists said that the moonstone with no carvings found in the premises belongs to the early-Anuradhapura era.
