Who left 250,000 rupees on the Pharmaceutical authority directors table? Health Ministry launches separate investigations.
The Health Ministry has initiated separate investigation into the incident where a parcel of 50 thousand rupees had been left on the table of the Pharmaceutical Authority Director.
A meeting was held between the representatives of several pharmaceutical companies and Pharmaceutical Authority Director Dr. Hemantha Beneragama at the latter’s office last week.
Later Dr. Beneragama found a parcel of cash notes left on his table, and handed it over to his clerk before complained to the Bribery Commission.
However Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Nihal Jayatilaka said that the ministry is conducting a separate investigation with regard to the incident.
