Min. Mahinda Samarasinghe says government will face Geneva challenges without betraying country or armed forces

The government states that it will face all the challenges against the country at the Human Rights Summit which will be held in Geneva in March while safeguarding the country and its security forces.

Special Representative of the Sri Lankan government on human rights Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe made this statement while speaking during a function held in Kandy today.

Elaborating further Minister Samarasinghe stated that the statistics compiled by the Department of Census and Statistics regarding the Northern Province will also be taken to the summit.

Meanwhile, Kshenuka Seneviratne assumed duties as the Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs this morning.

She is the first female to be appointed to the post.
