SF's rally in Balapitiya disrupted

A tense situation arose in Balapitiya town yesterday when police took in to custody a vehicle for having used loudspeakers without permission for election activities.

This was during a Democratic Party meeting held with the participation of its leader and former army commander Sarath Fonseka.

When Sarath Fonseka arrived at the location with Anoma Fonseka,  Ahungalla  Police informed him that the meeting could not be allowed as a permit for the use of loudspeakers had not been obtained.

A tense situation arose as Sarath Fonseka began to address the meeting despite police objection.

A heated situation arose between the Police and Democratic Party Leader Sarath Fonseka.
