Update : 15 SL representatives ascheduled to leave for India this weekend
Indian media today reported that a group of 15 Sri Lankan representatives are scheduled to leave for India this weekend to take part in the Indo – Sri Lanka fishermen’s discussions.
This group includes 10 leaders of fishing associations from Mannar, Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Negambo, Puttalam and Trincomalee.
This group is scheduled to reach Chennai on Sunday and are expected to take part in the discussions on Monday.
Convenor of the Indo – Sri Lanka Fishermen’s Federation, S. T. Anthonimuttu expressed the following views regarding the discussions that are scheduled to be held in Chennai next week.

Indo - Sri Lanka fisheries discussions postponed again.
Indian Ministry of External affairs said that they were working out fresh dates to address to the issue of fishermen of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka as the meeting could not take place on the earlier planned date, as there needs to be a fishermen association meeting preceding the meeting of joint working committee.
Ministry Spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin said Sri Lanka has requested for some more time to prepare for the meeting.
He further said that a six member committee had been formed between India and Sri Lanka.
