Video: While 1st stage is still inactive Norochcholai 2nd stage joins the electricity grid
The Ministry of Power and Energy has taken steps to add the electricity generated under the 2nd stage of the Norochcholai power plant to the national grid.
However, electricity is not been provided to the national grid from the 1st state due to a technical failure.
The Ministry stated that it would take another 2 more weeks to restore electricity generation at the plant.
Meanwhile, the Ministry also stated that the Kelanitissa Power plant which also failed recently has been restored.
However, the national electricity consumers movement says that adding the electricity generated under the 2nd stage while the 1st stage is inactive is not practical.
