Deputy Fisheries Minister Sarath Kumara Gunarathne says that the 8 multi day fishing boats which were in the centre of Indo - Sri Lanka fishing dispute are being brought back to the island today.

He said the fleet is sailing to the Kalpitiya Navy camp via Baththalangunduwa.

Indian security authorities arrested 8 multi day fishing boats while they were engaged in fishing in Sri Lankan waters near the Sri Lanka India maritime boarder in last November.

The Deputy Minister also said that 45 Sri Lankan fishermen on board were also arrested by the Indian security authorities.
