Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana says that human bone fragments of 53 skeletons have so far been found from the Thiruketheeswaram mass grave in Mannar.

He said several fragments of another skeleton were found in the excavation carried out today.

Excavations of this mass grave were carried out for 17 days since the diggings started for the first time on the 23rd of last December.

The IGP handed over the investigations to the Thirukestheeswaram mass grave o the ICD recently.

The Police Media Spokesman said therefore that a special CID team has already gone to Mannar to conduct further investigations into the Thirukestheeswaram mass grave.
