Specialist Committee to solve training issue at maternity wards

The Health Ministry stated that a Specialist Medical Technicians Committee has been appointed to look in to the training of staff at maternity wards.

The Ministry stated that this decision was taken following the recent conflict of ideas that erupted between Nursing staff and family health planning officials.

Meanwhile, staff at the Lady Ridgeway hospital will engage in a peaceful demonstration today against the Health Ministry’s decision to demote Dr Rathnasiri Hewage who served as the Director, down as Deputy Director.
