Students of Kolonnawa- Gothatuwa Maha Vidyalaya and the parents request the education officials to develop the school to a secondary school.
A discussion was held with this regard under the patronage of Colombo district Parliamentarian R Dumindha Silva at Gothatuwa Kande Viharaya.
Gothatuwa Maha Vidyalaya was established 50 years ago, however during last year education activities deteriorated and classes were limited to grade 5.
According to a decision taken by the Education department students of this college are transferred to Kollonnawa Olcott College after grade 5.
Parents of the students stated that its a hindrance to them.
Subsequently, to solve the issue a discussion was held under the patronage of MP R Dumindha Silva and the parents at the Gothatuwa Kande Viharaya.
MP R Dumindha Silva stated that the matter will be discussed with the education Minister and a solution will be given on Monday.
