44 complaints to the elections secretariat : processions banned says Police.
Police Headquarters announced that a special security plan will be in operation today and tomorrow in areas where the two Provincial council elections are held.
The main political parties expect to hand over their nominations today and tomorrow.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that 3000 police officers have been deployed in these areas on the two days.
Meanwhile by now 44 complaints have been received at the Election Complaints Unit set up at the Election Secretariat relevant to the Western and Southern Provincial election.
An Election Complaints Unit spokesman said that the highest number of these complaints, had been received from the Colombo District.
Seven complaints have been received from the Kalutara District, three from the Galle District, two from the Matara District, and one has been lodged from the Hambantota District.
The Election Complaints Unit spokesman said that so far no complaint had been reported from the Gampaha District.
The complaints have been received with regard to Government employee transfers, meetings, agitations and unapproved propaganda activities.
