A statement of support to the Investigation about SL from the EC as well
The European Commission says that it will offer its active support for a credible and independent investigation into the war crime allegations leveled against Sri Lanka.
This is mentioned in a resolution the foreign committee which met at the European Commission Headquarters in Brussels yesterday passed.
It is further mentioned in the resolution that the European Commission’s attention has been drawn on Sri Lanka’s current human rights situation.
Meanwhile the Patriotic Bhikshu Front charges that Western countries de-stabilise emerging countries under the guise of human rights.
Patriotic Bhikshu Front Secretary Venerable Bengamuwe Naalaka Thero participating at a media briefing he had convened in Colombo yesterday said that those countries did not consider that eradication of terrorism by Sri Lanka as a safeguarding of human rights.
