Investigations begin on Bone fragments found at Mutraweli in Trincomolee.
During the renovation of McKeyzer grounds at Mutravaeli in Trincomalee yesterday, the labourers have found bone fragments similar to human bones.
Police media spokesman said that the bones were found by these labourers when they were digging a well.
Trincomalee police is conducting an inquiry to confirm if these bones belong to humans.
Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that the area has been secured with police protection.
Meanwhile, the police said that excavation work continues today, for the 24th day, at Thirukaetheeshwaram, Mannar where a mass grave was discovered.
According to the Police spokesman, about 57 human bone fragments have been uncovered from the site thus far.
