The Jathika Hela Urumaya states that it has withdrawn the decision to file a case against the Prime Minister for making a statement that insulted venerable Omalpe Sobitha thero.

Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo today General Secretary of the JHU Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka stated that this decision was taken based on advice given by the Chief Prelate of the Ramagngna Nikaya.

The JHU decided to file a case against the Prime Minister for calling the Leader of the JHU Venerable Omalpe Sobitha Thero a person clad in saffron robes during the incident where two containers of drugs were imported to the country.
