The Tamil political party in Tamil Nadu, DMK today urged the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to facilitate a separate resolution against Sri Lanka at the United Nations Human Rights Council seeking an independent and credible probe into alleged war crimes in Sri Lanka.

DMK MPs led by its Parliamentary Party Leader T R Baalu submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister in New Delhi asking him to "support and facilitate UN-led independent and international investigation.

Our news team inquired about this proposal from the secretary of the National Patriotic movement Dr Wasantha Bandara.

Dr Wasantha Bandara stated that all must unite to defeat such malicious proposals presented against Sri Lanka.
