Complaint against Indian Peacekeeping Force as well
The Presidential Commission to Investigate Complaints Regarding Missing Persons had received a complaint against the Indian Peace Keeping Force.
Chairman of the Commission Maxwell Parakrama Paranagama stated that the complaint was received during the recent hearings held in Jaffna.
Just a few months after arriving in Sri Lanka the IPKF allegedly shot hospital workers at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
Chairman of the Commission Maxwell Parakrama Paranagama said that the complaint, relates to a period outside the panel’s review, which is from June 10th 1990 to May 19th 2009.
He added that the Government may widen the scope of the preview through a new gazette, so that it will be able to cover the IPKF period.
