The union action taken by the teachers of Asoka Vidyalaya Colombo demanding the transfer of its principal ended this afternoon.

Lanka Teachers Association General Secretary Joseph Starlin stated that his Union came to this conclusion after education authorities agreed to appoint the Additional Circuit Education Director to act on behalf of the principal of Asoka Vidyalaya.

Teachers of Ashoka College continue to stay away from duty

The Election Monitoring Network has requested the Election Commissioner to make an inquiry over the release of a bus belonging to Asoka College for the use of the election campaign of a UPFA provincial council candidate.

The network media spokesman Attorney-at-law Chaminda Gunasekera said that his organization has received a complaint that the bus was released by the school principal.

Meanwhile, teachers attached to Asoka College are staying away from duty today too demanding the removal of the principal.

However out news team contacted Asoka College principal Y Yasarathna to comment on the allegations.

The principal refuted the allegation leveled against him.
