Lectures for 33 students attached to the Veterinary Faculty of Peradeniya University have been suspended after their alleged involvement in a ragging incident.

University Disciplinary Officer Dr. Ashoka Dangolla told our news team that 25 second year students and 8 Third year students have been suspended indefinitely.

Meanwhile Inter University Students Federation of Sri Jayewardenepura University convened a media briefing in Colombo today.

Federation President Sampath Wickramasinghe told journalists during the media briefing that the University authorities are attempting to create a rift between the students and the University Non-Academic staff.

Sampath Wickramasinghe said that the authorities have capitalized on the clash between some students and security staff of the University last Tuesday to achieve their sinister aim.
