Cardiac surgery strike concluded
The Hearts and Lungs Locators Association has decided to temporarily halt its four day strike which was launched on three demands including a risk allowance today.
The Association took the decision following a discussion with Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Nihal Jayatilaka this morning.
After the discussion, the Health Ministry issued a notice announcing that it decided to pay a risk allowance to the Hearts and Lungs Locators, and the respective Circular would be sent to all hospital within the day.
In addition to the risk allowance, the Health Ministry notice stated that it has obtained Treasury approval to replace the existing over time payment method with a rate-system.
