The Education Department closed down the Gampaha Bandaranayake Vidyalaya indefinitely after a tense situation erupted during a student’s protests against its principal today.

Some students also attempted to block our correspondents covering the mayhem and they have also assaulted our correspondents on the spot.

Subsequently a heated debated occurred between the students and the journalists.
