Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said that he would take action to remove all redundant election party offices put up by election candidates.

PAFFREL Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi said that certain candidates have set up excessive number of area offices, and used such premises mere to display their propaganda material such as cuts-out.

Hettiarachchi also said that the Election Commissioner advised police to remove such election offices soon.

Meanwhile a meeting between political party representatives and the Election Commissioner was held the latter’s office in Rajagiriya this morning. Several Human Rights Commission representatives also participated in the discussion.
