A request by lawyers of former CJ with regard to her private bank account permitted by Court.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya allowed the lawyers of former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake to obtain the services of computer analysts to inspect her private bank accounts.
The Commission to investigate Bribery or Corruption had filed three cases against former CJ for not disclosing the means of earning her assets.
When the case was taken before the Court today, former CJ’s lawyers moved a motion and requested that they need the information 45 days before the trial date.
Accordingly the Magistrate allowed employing a team of 8 experts including software experts, Auditors, legal officers and bank officers to inspect the accounts and obtain the necessary information within 4 days.
