Govt officers have a special responsibility in eradication of narcotics trafficking: President
President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that similar to politicians and the police Government officers also have a special responsibility in eradication of narcotics trafficking.
Participating in the function of giving appointments to 3802 graama niladhaarees in Colombo yesterday the President said that if Government officers carry out their responsibilities properly, the Government did not have to do anything special to bring about good governance.
On this occasion the President also pointed out that Government employees should always give priority to fulfill people’s needs.
The President said that therefore those who join Government service should understand people’s aspirations well.
On this occasion the President also stated that it was a responsibility of Government employees to act with the insight that the Government employee was a servant of the people.
