India receives US resolution against Sri Lanka
India said that it has received the United States-sponsored resolution on Sri Lanka and it is currently being examined by the Indian officials in Geneva.
Responding to a query on the resolution against Sri Lanka, the Official Spokesperson at India's External Affairs Ministry Syed Akbaruddin said that there was no "substantive discussion" on the resolution during the meeting between the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa in on the 04th.
Regarding India's approach to the resolution tabled by the US, UK, Mauritius and Macedonia at the 25th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Spokesperson said it is an "evolving situation" and that India will consider all aspects of the matter before a decision is made.
India, facing elections next month and under immense pressure to bow to Tamil sentiments in the state of Tamil Nadu.
