Premier reiterates the importance of a Sanga court
Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne said that by establishing a Sangha-adhikarana in accordance with the current law, the Bhikkus will have an opportunity to resolve their issues.
The Premier expressed his views during the ceremony held for appointing Ihala-gama Dhamma-wansha Thero of Anuradhapura Vihara Palamu-gama Sri Sudharshana-ramaya temple, as the North Central Province Judiciary Sangha-nayake.
Further expressing his views, the Prime Minister said that this move would ensure the respect towards bhikkus.
Meanwhile, elaborating his views regarding the Geneva Human Rights Council, the Prime Minister said that the western countries are trying to make Sri Lanka a dependent nation.
