Member of the Asgiri Chapter’s working committee Venerable Medagama Dhammananda thero states that certain parties are working towards accomplishing the needs of the International Community while saying that there is no religious harmony in the country.

Giving a special statement to the media in Kandy Dhammananda thero stated that groups of responsible individuals from the government and opposition are working to show disharmony amongst races and religions in the country.

A set of recommendations aimed at developing religious harmony has been developed by the South Asia Policy and Research Institute, of which former President Chandrika Kumaranatunga is the chairperson.

The former president also presented this set of recommendations to the leader of the opposition Ranil Wickramasinghe recently.

Speaking during the occasion she stated that during the recent past there were issues in Sri Lanka regarding religious harmony.

However, speaking at the press conference held in Kandy Member of the Asgiri Chapter’s working committee Venerable Medagama Dhammananda thero denied this statement.

Former President Chandrika's report is biased: Bodu Bala sena charges

The Bodu Bala Sena organization says that the observation report prepared by former President Chandrika Kumaratunga is biased.

The report sponsored by South Asian Policy and Research Institute at which the former President is its head was handed over to Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe last Tuesday.
