A revelation from Fonseka's party activists of who joined UPFA.
Many leading persons including top office-bearers of the Democratic Party being disappointed with Sarath Fonseka’s dictatorship, met President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday and expressed support to the UPFA.
Presidential Media Unit said that they met the President at Temple Trees last afternoon and pledged to offer support to carry forward the Government’s programme of making the country victorious.
Among them are prominent DP member Mihintalaa Rajamahaa Buddhist Temple Chief Incumbent Venerable Valavaa-hangunu-wawe Dhammarathana Thero who had worked for the party with dedication, DP’s assistant secretary Maalaa Wijethilaka, DP Vice Chairman and Yaapahuwa electorate organizer Major Wimal Ratnaayake and many candidates who had contested at the 2010 parliamentary election under the DNA ticket.
Similarly the Presidential Media Unit said that among these there were also more than 20 candidates who had contested at past provincial council elections representing DNA.
They have told the President that DP Leader Sarath Fonseka had become a person who destroys the country.
On this occasion they had said that Sarath Fonseka constantly vexed them who had sweated and toiled for the party as party members.
The President’s Media Division said that Sarath Fonseka who treats party members in a very inhuman way hypocritically shed’s crocodile tears about democracy at platforms.
