Police have arrested 8 suspects today over the Panadura conflict which involved the street drama troupe of JVP affiliated Socialist Arts Association.
According to Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana, the police arrested two suspects in the bus halt following a complaint lodged by the JVP street drama troupe.
In addition, 6 persons from the JVP street drama troupe have also been arrested on assault charges following a complaint lodged by the Time Keeper and another person at the bus halt.
Meanwhile, JVP handed over their policy statement ‘Our Vision’ to Jamaitul Ulama organization’s religious leaders today.
At this occasion, JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that national harmony is imperative for the development of a country.
