Tangalle PS Chairman seeks legal assistance at state cost
The respondent's side has requested the courts to appoint lawyers under government's expense to represent the respondent, regarding the murder case of a British national and molesting his Russian girlfriend by the form Tangalle PS Chairman.
The request was made during the court hearing of the case before High Courts Judge Rohini Walgama today.
The judge has stated that she will consider the request on the 17th.
The former PS Chairman Sampath Chandra-pushpa Vidaana Pathirana and other suspects were charged with the allegation of murdering British national Kuram Seik and molesting his girlfriend at a Tangalle Tourist resort.
Meanwhile, the courts made a statement that a testimony will be acquired from the alleged Russian girl subjected to molestation on the 26th.
The High Courts Judge ordered to convene a Russian to Sinhala Translator as well as the assistant Editor of Sinhala Dictionary to the courts on the 26th.
