Yet another phase in the series of programmes of Daham Saviya All Religious Shrines Resuscitating Programme implemented under a concept of Colombo District MP R. Dumindha Silva was implemented yesterday in view of the Maedin Pura Poya Day.

Under the Daham Saviya All Religious Shrines Resuscitating Programme financial assistance is granted for developing Buddhist temples, Catholic churches, Hindu Kovils and Muslim Mosques.

Accordingly yet another phase of the Daham Programme, a concept of MP R. Dumindha Silva, was implemented centered around two Buddhist Temples yesterday.

The first programme was implemented at the Hokandara Aevariheana Sri Bodhi-vardhana Buddhist Temple.

After participation in religious rites, the presentation of financial assistance under the Daham Saviya Programme for constructing the Buddha Shrine Room and the Daham Paasael building was carried out under the patronage of MP R. Dumindha Silva.

Sri Bodhi Wardhana Buddhist Temple Chief Incumbent Venerable Habarakada  Jinavansa Thero who gave religious discourse to the people who had assembled subsequently stated blessed the MP long life and good health.

The other Buddhist Temple for which financial assistance was granted under the Daham Saviya programme was the Waellampitiya Sedawatta Swarnapaali Buddhist Centre.

While this is a newly constructed Buddhist Temple, the Daham Paasala, Nursery School, as well as the Arts Institute and an Educational Institute too were inaugurated yesterday under the patronage of Colombo District MP R. Duminda Silva.

In addition a presentation of financial assistance to Chief Incumbent Venerable Piliyandala Padumasiri Thero on behalf of this project also took place.
