North Western PC decides to ban conduct of additional classes coinciding with Sunday school
The North Western Provincial Council has decided to ban tuition classes coinciding with the time period of Sunday Schools.
According to the Provincial Chief Minister’s office, the decision was taken during a recent provincial council ministers’ meeting.
Therefore, Tuition up to O/L classes will not be held within North Western province from Sunday morning to 1.30pm.
North Western Human Resources Development Authority will be responsible for keeping tabs on the new rule.
In addition, measures have been taken to ban tuition classes on Sundays in Sabaragamuwa and Northern provinces.
As the Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs, Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne made a request from the Chief Ministers and provincial ministers to ban tuition classes coinciding with Sunday schools.
