2 drug traffickers who smuggled 36 kilograms of heroin arrested
Police Narcotic Bureau arrested the local agent of the heroin racket in which they attempted to smuggle 36 kilograms of heroin inside bolted boxes in Colombo today.
Police Narcotic Bureau stated that the suspect Mohammad Ali Sabri is one of the notorious drug kingpins in the country and he is a Sri Lankan born Canadian citizen.
The Customs disclosed that the value of the cache of heroin which was attempted under the cover of hardware on the 5th of this month is nearly three hundred and 60 million rupees.
Later a Pakistan national Mohammad Wali was arrested in Kandy.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that on information provided by Mohammad Wali, police was able to arrest the local agent in Colombo today.
The Customs also seized 250 kilograms of heroin concealed in bolted boxes of two containers at the Orugodawatta Customs Clearing Unit on the 30th of August last year.
