Hartal in Trincomalee against Geneva resolution
A Hartal movement has begun in Trincomalee to protest against the US resolution submitted to the Geneva Human Rights Council against Sri Lanka.
According to our correspondent, Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim Collective has organized this Hartal movement where all shops in the town have been closed and the bus transport service has come to a grinding halt.
The correspondent further reported that several buses which operated during the Hartal were attacked with stones by a group of people.
Upon inquiry, a spokesman of Trincomalee Police said that they have deployed police officers to beef up security in the town.
