Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said today that the death of Borella former OIC is being considered as murder, and investigations would be carried out accordingly to arrest the suspects.
Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today the Police Media Spokesman said that three suspects in connection with the murder have already been identified.
Avissawella Chief Magistrate D.H.A. Senevirathna today ordered the Padukka police to hand over to CID all investigation reports of the recent clash in Tunnana, Hanwella.
The Magistrate issued the order following a request made by Chief Inspector of the CID Jayantha Rohana.
Borella Police OIC Prasad Siriwardana died after being trapped under a tree that fell on him during the clash last Sunday.
The magistrate inquiry with regard to the death of the former Borella OIC was scheduled for today at the Avissawella Magistrate Court.
However the CID informed Court that no evidence could be gathered in connection with the death of the deceased OIC.
Then Chief Magistrate D.H.A. Senevirathna ordered the CID to use unedited video clips of television channels that covered the Tunnana incident.
